Blocking user on Twitter

Now that you have had a respectable number of followers you feel good about being on twitter and accomplished at the same time. Now when you send out a 140 character wit, there is a substantial audience to read it and respond to it. That gives pleasure, isn't it ?
But with the numbers comes the trouble uninvited. And the trouble is that you have unwanted followers whose @replies and @mentions appear on your timeline and spoil the joy that you had been experiencing till now. What to do ? Here comes the "block" function to your rescue.

How to Block someone ?
Block from your following/follower list-
Go to your follower/following list, click the settings tab in front of the user you want to block and select 'Block' from the drop down list.

Block from the profile page -
Go to the profile page of the user you want to block, click on settings Tab at the top and select 'Block'. And that's the end of all the nuisance that was troubling you (if at all).
What does the “Block” do ?
When you block a user,

But natural, being in social media you are here to socialize, not offend someone. So twitter has made requisite arrangements to safeguard your interests. The user being blocked does not get to know that he is being blocked till he carefully notices his tweets and finds out that your tweets are missing from his timeline and then goes to your homepage only to discover an error message saying “this user has protected his tweets” . The other way he can find out he is blocked is by going to his following list and not finding you there.
How to Unblock a user
You changed your mind and now you have to unblock a user. No Problem! just go to his profile page, click the settings tab on top and select unblock from the drop down list. You will not be able to this for multiple people at a time because they may not appear in your lists.
